Jobs Product Application Specialist in Panama 2026

Caterpillar Inc. is hiring a Product Application Specialist for its operations in Panama. This role focuses on the Wide Body Truck portfolio, acting as a technical bridge between complex engineering capabilities and real-world site productivity. You'll serve as a global deep expert, meaning your primary function involves guiding regional teams, dealers, and customers toward fleet solutions that actually work in demanding environments like mining and large-scale quarrying. Because this is a high-visibility position, you must be prepared to work onsite five days a week, engaging directly with equipment performance and customer site requirements.

Your daily tasks will revolve around heavy technical analysis and direct field engagement. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of:

Mining and heavy equipment applications, specifically regarding truck and loading cycles.

Fleet productivity metrics and the ability to translate technical data into tangible value for site managers.

Cross-functional collaboration with internal engineering, sales, and global marketing departments.

Jobsite assessments that identify gaps in performance or equipment utilization.

The mechanics of New Product Introductions and how these updates influence market PINS performance.

Developing these insights allows you to influence future product development, ensuring that Caterpillar equipment evolves based on actual field feedback. You aren't just selling a machine; you're selling a technical solution that must prove its worth in terms of safety and total cost of ownership. You'll need to deliver training to both Caterpillar personnel and external dealer teams across the globe, requiring a high level of influence and clear, persuasive communication. Business acumen is mandatory here; you should be comfortable negotiating terms, explaining the value of technical features to diverse stakeholders, and maintaining healthy relationships with clients who expect immediate, reliable answers to complex operational challenges.

Working at this level demands familiarity with the global dealer network. You will be responsible for capturing Voice of Customer insights and turning those findings into actionable product improvements. This means you'll spend time analyzing competitive activity and market trends to ensure the Wide Body Truck lineup maintains its lead in the industry. The company places a heavy emphasis on inclusivity and equity, welcoming applications from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. You must be prepared to navigate a global corporate environment that relies on digital communication, specifically using Workday for your application and tracking status updates. Keep a close watch on your email, including spam filters, as that is the primary way they will reach you.

By securing this role, you position yourself for future paths in regional business leadership, commercial management, or product development. The environment is supportive, offering resources such as employee groups for women in networking, young workers, and various cultural or identity-based support programs. You must include an English resume in your Workday profile to be considered. This role requires technical precision, a strong ability to manage relationships, and a desire to work directly with the machinery and teams that shape global construction and mining sectors.
